Shibari is a form of artistic Japanese rope bondage that involves intricate tying and weaving techniques to bind and immobilize a person in aesthetically pleasing patterns. It originated from the ancient martial art of hojojutsu and has evolved into a form of erotic and expressive bondage. It emphasizes the connection between the rigger (the person tying) and the model (the person being tied), often focusing on trust, communication, and intimacy.
